The MIs from the two cemeteries in Fetternear, in the parish of Chapel of Garioch, seem not to have been recorded. These are St John's, near the main road, and St Ninian's Roman Catholic chapel, whose derelict remains lie on the banks of the Don near the ruins of Fetternear House.

I have a handful of MIs from St John's, and several more from St Ninian's:

ST JOHN'S

William Bowie, stonemason of Kintore, died 10th June 1938. Also his parents and brother Peter, interred here and his other three brothers interred elsewhere.

Violet Bowie, wife of James Ross, died 7th November 1904, age 64. Also James, their youngest son, who was accidentally drowned at St Anne's Canada on 17th July 1905, age 22. Also James Ross, who died 1st January 1910 age 72.

Mrs Lizzie Bowie born 15th May 1800 died 15th July 1890

William Bowie died 27th July 1874 age 83 having been 55 years a faithful servant of the Balquhain family. Also his son John, who died 27th June 1924 age 89

ST NINIAN'S

Erected in memory of James Davie, Farmer, Hill of Fetternear, who died on 21st July 1867 aged 68 years. Also his spouse Margaret Smith who died 14th May 1844 age 45 years. Also Robert Davie thair (sic) son who died 7th February 1864 age 33 years and James Davie grandchild who died 27th December 1853 age 11 weeks. Also Ann Minto daughter-in-law aged 29 who died 27th November 1853 and Peter Davie her son who died 25th March 1854 aged 1 year.

In memory of Thomas Crombie late Farmer Middleton of Balquhain who died on 15th January 1820 in his 60th year. Also his wife Isobel Nicol who died 4th June 1826 aged 58 years.

Erected by Peter Davie crofter Moss Side of Fetternear in memory of his daughter Mary who died 4th June 1849 aged 5 years. Also Catherine who died 13th June 1849 aged 8 years. Also his son Peter who died 21st April 1854 aged 26 years. Also William who died 30th September 1860 aged 32 years. Also his spouse Catherine Cumming who died 18th December 1872 aged 68. The said Peter Davie who died 31st March 1875 age 78 years.

Jean Crombie spouse of Peter Middleton Farmer in Newtown of Fetternear died 12th January 1826 aged 74 years. Also the said Peter Middleton who died 27th April 1847 aged 98.

In memory of Alexander Crombie Merchant in Aberdeen who died 11th January 1809 aged 61 years. Also his spouse Jane Philip who died 1820 aged 71. Charles Edmond, Cartwright in Aberdeen who died 20th May 1836 age 55. Margaret Crombie his spouse who died 29th May 1846 aged 61 years. And of their children William Tower who died 7th September 1822 aged 11 months. Janet who died 11th January 1831 aged 5 years. James who died 28th May 1837 aged 18 years.

Erected by Amelia Davie in memory of her husband Peter Walker, late farmer in Mains of Fetternear, who died 6th December 1844 aged 66 years. Also Ann Adam their grand-daughter who died 25th July 1855 aged 4 years. Also the said Amelia Davie who died 11th July 1872 aged 77 years.

Erected in memory of John Nicol, Farmer in Newton of Fetternear, who died on the 4th March 1855 aged 63 years.

1864 Erected by Peter Walker of Blackhall in memory of his daughter Isobella who died 29th July 1864 aged 2 years. Also the above Peter Walker who died at Hill of Fetternear on 18th March 1887 aged 55 years. Also his wife Isobella(?) Reid?(indecipherable)

Erected by John Walker in memory of his mother Jean Ryrie who died 30th December 1849 aged 64 years. Also Ann Walker her daughter who died in July 1834 age 19 years. Also John Thain her grandson who died 4th October 1855 in the 3rd year of his age. Also of Charles Walker, Father of the said John Walker, who died July 29th 1866 aged 83 years. Also William, brother of the above John Thain, who died 30th October 1857 in infancy
